Who is Bakari the Lurdusaurus?
Found in Niger, Africa, Bakari the Lurdusaurus was an unusual iguanodont. Its name, meaning “heavy lizard”, indicates it had a distinctive bulky body.

The Size of Bakari the Lurdusaurus
According to scientific research on the fossils, the body length of Bakari the Lurdusaurus was set to 8 meters to scale down when we did reconstruction.

The Body of Bakari the Lurdusaurus
Compared to its body, Bakari the Lurdusaurus had a very small head, with an elongated neck. Its body carried a noticeable heaviness, and the torso was stout.

Its limbs were very short, particularly the forelimbs, which were both short and thick. While walking on all fours, its body was almost 2 meters tall, but the distance from the bottom of its belly to the ground was only 70 centimeters.
The Behaviour of Bakari the Lurdusaurus
Research indicates that Bakari the Lurdusaurus preferred staying in water, which was its unique lifestyle. It may have submerged itself in water, similar to hippos.
