On March 18th<\/sup>, 2022, two new members Aubrey\u00a0& Dabei the Torosaurus<\/em>\u00a0joined PNSO Dinosaur Museum scientific art model series. The newly launched Aubrey\u00a0& Dabei the Torosaurus\u00a0<\/em>1:35 scientific art models by ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang were reconstructed based on the latest research results. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creative Activities in Children\u2019s Spac<\/strong>e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PNSO Dinosaur Museum Creative Activities in Children\u2019s Space Solution: Aubrey the Torosaurus and the Suborder Ceratopsia Scientific Art Exhibition is part of the \u201cPNSO New Aesthetic Education Project: Join ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang to Creating Amazing Stories on Earth\u201d which is facing to the children aging 6 to 12. In this solution, we provide two scientific art activities.
Activity I<\/strong>: PNSO Dinosaur Museum Scientific Art Exhibition of Aubrey the Torosaurus and the Suborder Ceratopsia: Explore a Scientific Art Exhibition.
Activity II<\/strong>: PNSO Dinosaur Museum Scientific Art Exhibition of Aubrey the Torosaurus and the Suborder Ceratopsia: Join Us in Creating a Scientific Art Exhibition.
Children participating in the activity will learn about designing an exhibition, from planning and preparation to presentation and visiting. They will also participate in the planning, design, and presentation of an exhibition.
We take exhibition, a specialized scientific art activity, as a means to integrate science and art. Children will learn about classification in biology, understand the laws of evolution, and get ideas about the differences between individuals and why the differences exist. They will be able to compare things according to logical rules, have a preliminary sense of creating characters, and eventually use artistic means in an exhibition to share they thoughts.
By taking part in the activities of the Aubrey the Torosaurus and the Suborder Ceratopsia exhibition, children aged 6-12 will develop readiness in science, writing, logic, practical skills, and expression to enhance their capacities in cognition, thinking, and hands-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preface<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome to “PNSO Dinosaur Museum: Scientific Art Exhibition of Aubrey the Torosaurus<\/em> and the Suborder Ceratopsia.” In this exhibition, you will follow Aubrey and its ceratopsian friends to understand them, the unique and fascinating group of herbivorous dinosaurs. The ceratopsians, known for their sharp horns and huge head frills, had defensive capabilities that could thwart many predators. Their emergence pushed the evolution of herbivorous dinosaurs to the highest peak, and they were the most unusual group among the diverse herbivorous dinosaur species. In this exhibition, we present the group portraits of the ceratopsians by using scientific art, with a special focus on Aubrey the Torosaurus<\/em>, a powerful and representative ceratopsian. By showing the evolutionary path, group characteristics, and individual personality of this group, we will depict the liveliness and power of the ceratopsians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

01 \/ A Psittacosaurus<\/em> Family<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psittacosaurus<\/em> were representatives of early ceratopsians. They had not yet developed a huge head frill, and there were no obvious sharp horns on their faces, but their mouth was already specialized beaks, which were very similar to those of parrots. Fittingly, its name “Psittacosaurus<\/em>” means “parrot.” Psittacosaurus<\/em> were a large group. Their numbers were great, their species many, and their habitats far-ranging. They always acted in groups. If you could visit the time when they lived, you would often see the warm family scene of the mother Psittacosaurus leading a group of children to play and forage together. They could dig holes and enjoy having the large family living in the space dug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 \/ Aubrey the Torosaurus<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Triceratops<\/em>, Torosaurus<\/em> was also among the most famous ceratopsians. The reason was both because of its equally massive size and its huge head frill. This made the skull of Torosaurus<\/em> almost the largest among land animals. The skull was about 2.6 meters long, much longer than the height of an adult human. This was a Torosaurus <\/em>named Aubrey, which looked very similar to Triceratops<\/em> because they both had long and sharp brow horns and a short, thick nasal horn. However, its head frill had two large holes and was not solid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

19 \/ The Life of Aubrey the Torosaurus<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volcano nearby seemed to be active recently, and the frequent eruptions had filled the air with a pungent smell. Although Aubrey the Torosaurus<\/em> felt a little uncomfortable, as long as it could collect enough food every day, especially the tender cycads or coniferous plants he likes, it felt that its days were good. Of course, there was another point that it also cared about: not to be targeted by the ferocious Tyrannosaurus rex<\/em>. Fortunately, it had sharp horns and a large head frill, and Tyrannosaurus rex<\/em> generally did not try to prey on it. See, weren’t they together in peace now? But Aubrey still felt that it had to be cautious, because caution would make it feel safer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
