Who is A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Qi the Sinoceratops <\/em>was a large ceratopsian with fossils found in present-day Shandong Province, China. Sinoceratops<\/em> is the only ceratopsid discovered outside North America so far. The discovery of their family shows that before the appearance of Sinoceratops<\/em>, large ceratopsians had already begun to spread from North America to Eurasia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang create A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Size of A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we restored, the body length of A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em> was set to 6 meters to scale down, the most common size of this genus. Although this size is not comparable to many large herbivorous dinosaurs, it is already a relatively large individual in the Ceratopsia family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Head Frill of A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Qi the Sinoceratops <\/em>had a huge head frill, and the margin of the head frill possessed a dozen curved small horns, which strengthened the attack power of the head frill. At the same time, for the male Sinoceratops<\/em>, the head frill still played the role of attracting the opposite sex. So when we restored the model, we designed the head frill of A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em> in brighter colors, which also shows it had a show-off function. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Limbs of A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Qi the Sinoceratops <\/em>had thick limbs. Its forelimbs had five fingers, but only three could bear weight, and the other two had degenerated. It had four toes on its hind legs, the inner ones were smaller, and the other three were larger. There were full and thick pads under its toes and a large pad on the soles of the feet. All these details are well presented in our restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tail of A-Qi the <\/strong>Sinoceratops<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Qi the Sinoceratops<\/em> had a short, stout tail with thick muscles. Its tail was not very flexible, so we only reconstructed it in shape with a limited curvature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
