How did ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang create Munkh the Gigantoraptor?
The Size of Munkh the Gigantoraptor
Munkh the Gigantoraptor was massive. According to scientific research on the fossils, the body length of Munkh the Gigantoraptor was set to 8 meters to scale down when we did the reconstruction.
The Head of Munkh the Gigantoraptor
Munkh the Gigantoraptor was large in size, yet it had a very small head. Its head had no crest, and the front of its mouth featured a hard, keratinous beak. It had a long, slender neck.
Feathers on Its Body
Munkh the Gigantoraptor had feathers covering its torso. Long feathers covered its forelimbs, making them look like two large wings. The feathers on its tail were also very long.
The Hind Limbs of Munkh the Gigantoraptor
A large size means the body carries more weight, making high-speed movement difficult. However, Munkh the Gigantoraptor was different. Its legs were long and powerful, and they were the reason it was huge but could also run fast.
