Who is Biber the Stegosaurus?

Biber the Stegosaurus is a peculiar herbivorous dinosaur from the Stegosaurus family. Armored with bony plates and tail spikes, it could defend itself effectively and attack against predators powerfully, not as weak as many herbivores.

How did ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang create Biber the Stegosaurus?

The Size of Bider the Stegosaurus

Biber was a larger member of the Stegosaurus family. We set its body to be about 8 meters long and 2.7 meters high at the hip to scale down. If the height of the bony plates is included, it can reach 3.5 meters. The towering bony plates made it look taller and mightier than it actually was.

The Head of Bider the Stegosaurus

The head of Biber the Stegosaurus was quite small. From our restoration, you can see its small head is in stark contrast to its huge body. Its eyes were also very small, and the anterior of the head was specialized into a hard keratinous beak, like that of birds.

The Bony Plates of Biber the Stegosaurus

Biber the Stegosaurus had huge bony plates; the ones above the hip were even bigger. These bony plates were covered by keratin, with sharp serrations, functioning as defense, show-off, etc. During the restoration, we clearly showed the shape and arrangement of those bony plates and presented the right colors according to their functions.

The Limbs of Biber the Stegosaurus

Biber the Stegosaurus had shorter forelimbs with five fingers on each, and the hindlimbs were longer than the forelimbs with three toes. The different lengths of the forelimbs and hindlimbs made it walk slowly. We showed this state when we did the restoration.

The Tail of Biber of Stegosaurus

Biber the Stegosaurus possessed four long and sharp spikes at the end of its tail, which were good defensive weapons. These four tail spikes were distributed symmetrically at the end of the tail, almost parallel to the ground, which can be clearly seen in our restoration.
