Who is Xilin the Wuerhosaurus?
Xilin the Wuerhosaurus belongs to one of the last genera of stegosaurian dinosaurs. It lived in the Early Cretaceous and witnessed the extinction of its family.
How did ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang create Xilin the Wuerhosaurus?
The Size of Xilin the Wuerhosaurus
Xilin the Wuerhosaurus was not large. According to scientific research on the fossils, its body length was set to 4.5 to 7 meters to scale down when we did reconstruction.
The Bony Plates of Xilin the Wuerhosaurus
Xilin the Wuerhosaurus possessed a typical stegosaurian feature – bony plates. Its bony plates were peculiar-shaped, unlike those triangular ones of most stegosaurians. Its bony plates were rectangular, short, and flat, with a slightly protruded tip at the posterior upper top.
The Limbs of Xilin the Wuerhosaurus
The limbs of Xilin the Wuerhosaurus were stout. Its forelimbs were extremely short. As it was not tall, it mainly fed on the low plants.
The Tail Spikes of Xilin the Wuerhosaurus
Although Xilin the Wuerhosaurus had no shoulder spines, its tail was tipped with four long spikes. These tail spikes were quite sharp, making them the defensive weapons against the predators.
