Who is Dayong the Yangchuanosaurus shangyouensis?
Yangchuanosaurus shangyouensis is the first described and named species of the Yongchuanosaurus family. In June 1977, its fossils were discovered in an upstream reservoir of Yongchuan District of Chongqing Municipality.

The head of Y. shangyouensis was huge, but not heavy. Its mouth was filled with sharp teeth, and combined with a great bite force, it can easily take down most prey.

The forelimbs of Y. shangyouensis were quite flexible with long, sharp claws, which could clamp down the prey easily. Its hind limbs were slender and sturdy that could provide it a quick run.
