Wilson the Tyrannosaurus rex: I Want More Friends and Doyle the Triceratops: I Want to Grow up Quickly, two scientific art books by ZHAO Chuang and YANG from the PNSO Dinosaur Stars Pop-up series, have been officially published in Japanese. The PNSO Dinosaur Stars Pop-up series is an original work of PNSO. The Japanese edition was published by DAINIPPON KAIGA, and the licensing was organized by the International Department of Dolphin Books.
Why did Wilson the Tyrannosaurus rex want friends? What formidable weapons did it have that frightened others away? Why did Doyle the Triceratops want to grow up quickly? What benefits would growing up bring? In these two books, let’s follow the household dinosaur stars Wilson the Tyrannosaurus rex and Doyle the Triceratops, travel back to their era, the Cretaceous, and listen to their stories and sorrows. All works in this series come from the research results of “Darwin: An Art Project of Life Science” of “PNSO’s Scientific Art Projects Plan: Stories on Earth.” Mr. ZHAO Chuang, PNSO’s scientific artist, strictly follows available scientific evidence throughout his creation by building his artistic framework based on fossils and scientific data. He restored skeletons, models, and ecological environments from fossils to make these both scientifically rigorous and artistically creative. Based on the latest scientific research, Ms. YANG Yang, the science writer for children, introduced us to Wilson the Tyrannosaurus rex and Doyle the Triceratops in vivid, intriguing, and rigorous scientific words, enabling children to feel the beauty of life evolution, biological behavior, and survival competition through reading.
