How did ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang create Junlang the Caudipteryx?

The Size of Junlang the Caudipteryx

According to scientific research on the fossils, the body length of Junlang the Caudipteryx was set to 0.7 to 1.2 meters to scale down when we did the reconstruction.

The Head of Junlang the Caudipteryx

Junlang the Caudipteryx had a short, tall head. The front of its mouth had specialized into a keratinous beak, which still had several fine teeth inside.

The Body of Junlang the Caudipteryx

The body of Junlang the Caudipteryx was covered in short, downy feathers, a primitive type of feather. However, the feathers on its tail and forelimbs resembled the pennaceous feathers found in birds, which consist of a rachis and vanes. With long hind limbs, Junlang the Caudipteryx could move quickly. Its tail was relatively short, with just a few caudal vertebrae, and it ended in feathers that pointed upward, as beautiful as those of peacocks.
